Abengoa (MCE: ABG/P:SM), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, has been awarded by the environmental group International Green Organization for the waste reduction plan implemented in a railway electrification project which the company is currently working on in United Kingdom.
On this occasion, the Golden Apple award was granted to Abengoa, through its Transmission and Infrastructure vertical, along with its partner Amey and its client Network Rail (NWR), for the Best Environmental Practice in the category of Building & Construction Waste Management.
The award concerns the success of a plan for minimizing the import of aggregates and reducing waste through reuse in the Great Western Electrification project, which the Amey-Abengoa consortium is currently working on in United Kingdom.
The Green Organization has been established since 1994 as an international, independent, non-profit, non-political, environment group, dedicated to recognizing, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
This new recognition consolidates the commitment of Abengoa to sustainability around the world.
