June 6, 2018

  • It has been granted by Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC).

June 6th, 2018 – Abengoa (MCE: ABG/P:SM), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, has received a new recognition of safety and health, granted on this occasion by the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) for the achievement of more than 1.5 million hours worked without lost time injury in the Samad & Sinaw project.

This recognition was given by the CEO of OETC Mr. Ali Al Hadabi, in an act that took place on May 3rd  at the Samad substation.

The event was also attended by different senior officers of OETC who presented various diplomas and recognition to workers for their performance in health and safety.

Likewise, Abengoa T&I has been awarded as "Best Near Miss Reporter" for the month of last December, acknowledgment given to the contractors that best reports of near miss incidents reported in the OETC projects in progress.

The project, located in the northwest region of Oman, consists of the construction, supply, assembly and commissioning of two new substations of 132 / 33kV, one in Samad and one in Sinaw, and more than 75 km of overhead transmission lines 132 kV associated with them, whose main technical challenge is to cross the mountainous areas of the interior of Oman.

Abengoa has been established since 2012 in Oman, where it has completed more than two and a half million hours worked without lost time injury for OETC and has won the first prize in the Health & Safety & Environment Week Campaign 2017.
