May 21st, 2018 – Abengoa, (MCE: ABG/P:SM), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, through its subsidiary Abengoa Inabensa, has been awarded, by Adif Alta Velocidad, the contract for the pre-maintenance and maintenance of the overhead contact line and associated systems with the new Antequera Santa Ana-Granada high-speed line (currently in the testing phase for commissioning), for a period of 60 months, extendable to 84 months.
Abengoa will be responsible for the maintenance work on the overhead contact line 25kVac Santa Ana-Granada section and the railway link between the Malaga and Granada lines, totaling 42 km of double track and 82 km of single track, its 25kV/230V transformation centers, point heating systems, tunnel lighting, 25kV supply circuits, grounding systems and modifications and improvements to the facilities.
These tasks include the entire range of preventive and corrective maintenance of the aforementioned installations, technical maintenance management, integral management of spare parts, management of maintenance and conservation of dresins, owned by Adif, piloting of third parties and continuous training of maintenance personnel.
Obtaining this maintenance project, Abengoa is further consolidating its position in the railway sector, where Abengoa is an international leader with more than 2,300 km of electrification of railway lines and more than 80 traction substations already developed or under construction. It is currently developing the construction works for the high-speed line of 450 km between Mecca and Medina, in Saudi Arabia, two new lines of the Santiago de Chile Metro and the electrification of 250 km of railway lines in the south of England.
