May 13, 2010 – Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, has been selected as a finalist for the BDigital Award for Digital Innovation, an initiative that annually rewards the most innovative business projects and ideas.
Telvent is one of three companies to be named as a finalist for the award, and will be judged on its Distribution Management System (DMS) Software application, a suite that allows electric distribution companies to carry out a comprehensive and intelligent network management. Telvent DMS technology is based on the smart grid concept, which emphasizes energy efficiency and sustainability.
The organizers of the award, Barcelona Digital Technological Center, have highlighted Telvent DMS Software for its applicability, originality and social benefits. Its advantages include semi-automatic restoration of networks, reduction of the duration of cuts, maximum reliability of predictions, and therefore, costs reduction.
DMS Software is part of the Telvent smart grid solutions suite with more than 15 years of experience and international recognition. The team that works daily with the product is composed of more than 200 professionals, and more than 30 projects include this technology in all the word.
This is the first time that Telvent is presented as a candidate for this prestigious award. The ceremony will be held on May 17th in Barcelona and will assist the Regional Director of Telvent in Catalonia, José Luis Galí, among other representatives of the company.
