Abengoa will build, through its branch Teyma Construction, an 80 MW electric power generating plant in Uruguay

May 4, 2009

Seville, May 4th, 2009.- The Electric Power Plants National Administration in Uruguay (UTE), has entrusted Teyma Construction, Abeinsa's associate, the later being Abengoa's Industrial Engineering and Construction business group, the design, construction and assembly of an 80 MW electric power generating plant in Montevideo.

This project, valued at 93 million dollars, is due to the commitment made by U.T.E to expand its electricity generation basis, in order to give an immediate and efficient solution to the increasing electricity consumption demand in Montevideo.

Teyma Construction, participates in this project through a 50 per cent consortium and will undertake the necessary engineering to install and put into operation eight piston engines 10 megawatts each, from the Finnish company Wärtsilä, incorporating them to the Plant. In addition to these engines -which weigh more than 200 tons each-, two voltage transformers 11/150 kV -weighing 120 tons each-, 120 radiators, and several electric boards and control devices will be installed too.
