Madrid, July 17, 2008. - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that it has been chosen to implement the Distributed Control System responsible for the acquisition, control, display and recording of all variables involved in the operation of the 470-megawatt solar combined-cycle hybrid plant to be built by Abengoa in Ain-Beni Mathar (Morocco) for the Office National de L’Electricité (ONE). Telvent will implement the entire control system, from design to service start-up.

The new plant will use a combined-cycle technology and a solar field of parabolic cylindrical collectors, which has a total installed power output capacity of 470 megawatts, 20 megawatts of which will come from the 183,000-square meter solar field, a surface area similar to 25 soccer fields. Given the magnitude of this high-performance plant and the need for an extremely reliable control system, Abengoa has selected Telvent because of its team of experienced professionals.

The success of this hybrid plant - putting together the combined-cycle and solar technology - is key in maintaining Abengoa at the forefront of the development and installation of technologies that combat climate change.

Telvent has implemented similar systems for combined-cycle plants throughout the world, many of these for Abengoa. Moreover, Telvent has worked closely with Abengoa Solar in implementing solar-tracking equations and also participates in the definition of power plant control elements.
