Telvent obtains ISO 20000 certification for its Information Technologies Services Management System

June 24, 2008

Madrid, June 24, 2008. - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, has obtained certification in compliance with the ISO 20000-1:2005 standard for the Information Technologies Services Management System (ITSMS) of its Global Services division, a neutral provider of Telvent’s IT services, through the external audit conducted by the British Standard Institute (BSI) firm. This certification acknowledges the high quality of Telvent’s IT service management solutions, based on ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, the most widely recognized international standard for managing and operating IT infrastructure.

In order to achieve ISO 20000-1:2005 certification, Telvent executed a series of internal adjustments which have had an impact on numerous aspects; ranging from IT service management processes through their adaptation to the Standard, to its technology, with the design and implementation of the latest solutions in service management in conjunction with its BMC Software technological partner. Certification has also affected Telvent professionals, who have taken on new roles and responsibilities, as well as working teams, experiencing a cultural change geared toward valuing the significance of the management system and the role they play therein.

“Achieving the ISO 20000-1:2005 standard lets us guarantee integrity and security for our clients in the wide range of IT services we deliver, in addition to meeting their present and future needs, as well as those of our partners, by adapting our portfolio,” stated Manuel Sanchez, Chairman of Telvent. In conclusion, he added, “Operating with a single integrated management system represents an advantage that assures application of best practices within an environment of continuous improvement in process quality.”

BSI accredits compliance of the IT Service Management System of Telvent’s Global Services division, with a high level of standard integration and planning, and includes technological outsourcing services of information systems in the defining, planning, management, control and improvement stages of these services. Telvent thereby achieves international distinction for corporate quality and joins the ranks of the very few companies in Spain to have succeeded in obtaining this important certification.

This certification reflects a truly efficient management model, essential for optimal administration and management of the IT services that Telvent delivers through its Global Services division, as well as in reaching maximum customer satisfaction. For Telvent, this management system represents yet another step forward in its commitment to ITIL practices as a way of guaranteeing successful business development, and joins the standards already in force within the company, such as Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), Information Security Management (ISO 27000), as well as EFQM-based methods for assessing business excellence.
