Madrid, March 18 2008. – Telvent (Nasdaq: TLVT), the information technologies company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the Madrid City Council to develop and maintain its new on-line Traffic Information System. The information website is scheduled to be ready for use beginning in May.

The new website, designed using state-of-the-art technology, will provide real-time information on traffic conditions, as well as a 24-hour forecast of possible delays. This on-line service will aid people in making travel decisions.

The new system is also intended to have a real impact on reducing traffic congestion, consequently lowering contaminating vehicle emissions as well.

For this project, Telvent will manage the information received from the traffic control center, also developed by Telvent, located in the capital city of Madrid. Telvent will handle data-input and operation of the information service, ensuring that incident warnings and information on traffic conditions are made available to citizens in real time.
