Telvent to supply communication terminals for Madrid's Barajas Airport

December 5, 2006

Madrid, December 5, 2006 – Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, announced today that it has signed a contract, worth approximately one million euros, with Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA), Spain’s airport operator, to supply radio-communication terminal units that will be utilized as part of the Madrid airport’s Tetra standard-based digital communication system.

Telvent will supply more than 600 portable terminals, 70 mobile terminals for vehicles and 25 stationary terminals that will be utilized in Madrid Airport. This system will allow communications with all ground staff and with vehicles circulating within the airport’s perimeter. This in turn will allow management to increase the efficiency of the airport’s daily operations and enable better coordination of emergency situations when they arise.

“We are gratified to continue working closely with AENA on the technological upgrading of Spain’s airports. With the implementation of this project, Madrid airport will possess one of the most technologically advanced communication systems available”, stated Telvent’s chairman and chief executive officer, Manuel Sánchez Ortega.

Telvent’s solution is the only one on the market with architecture and design based on non-proprietary devices, with multi-protocol capacity and architecture based on software instead of hardware, which simplifies and optimizes system operation. The differentiating features of the solution provides the user with a high degree of flexibility when integrating high level applications such as vehicle and staff positioning systems, SCADA systems, and emergency control centers.

Madrid airport will utilize the same Tetra standard-based communication technology being utilized at other Spanish airports, including Seville, Minorca, Ibiza, and Granada. Telvent has longstanding relationships with AENA and other international aviation bodies, for whom it has provided weather observation technology over many years.

Telvent (Nasdaq: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, specializes in high value add solutions and services in four industry segments (Energy, Traffic, Transport and Environment). Its technology allows high performing companies to make real-time business decisions using data acquisition, control, and advanced operational applications, providing secure actionable information delivery to the enterprise.
