Abengoa installs its Industrial and Logistics Center in Seville

October 16, 2006

Seville, October 16, 2006. - Today, the chairmen of Abengoa, Felipe and Javier Benjumea Llorente, held a meeting with the mayor of Seville, Alfredo Sanchez Monteseirin, to present Abengoa’s project for its Industrial and Logistics Center in Torrecuéllar, Seville. The project, which requires an investment of more than 8 million euro, will occupy a surface area of 32,115 m2 in the area of the Port of Seville, thanks to a 35-year administrative concession.

With the start-up of this project, scheduled for the first quarter of 2007, different Abengoa activities will be transferred to the Torrecuéllar Industrial and Logistics Center, such as the Panels and Boards Manufacturing and Assembly Workshops, the Vehicle Pool, Inabensa’s and Abentel’s general stores, as well as Abentel’s network Installations and Maintenance activities. This new center will enable the meeting of objectives such as greater control of production flows, reduction in investments in plant and equipment, in material handling costs, and in production costs.

Abengoa thus concentrates its activities focused on leading-edge technologies in Seville given that, in addition to the Torrecuéllar Industrial and Logistics Center, the Seville-based Company intends to establish its headquarters in the southern region of the city, in the Palmas Altas Technology Center. This complex, in which Abengoa will invest 63.5 million euro, will incorporate all the latest advances in sustainable development and will focus on the intensive use of new technologies.

Abengoa is a technology company that applies innovative solutions for sustainable development in the infrastructures, environment and energy sectors. It is a listed company with treasury stock in excess of 2,004 million euro (17/10/2006) and is present in more that seventy countries, where it operates with its five Business Units; Solar, Bioenergy, Environmental Services, Information Technologies, and Industrial Engineering and Construction.
