August 18, 2006

Madrid, August 17, 2006 – Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract for more than 4.8 million euros by Acciona Infraestructuras S.A., to provide control and security systems for the tunnels that will allow Madrid’s M-30 roadway to run underground between the San Isidro and Praga bridges. The project, one of which sections was awarded to Acciona Infraestructuras S.A., is part of a larger multi-vendor project led by the City of Madrid under the name “Madrid River, a link with the Past”. Its objective is to place the six kilometer section of the M-30 highway running along the banks of the Manzanares river underground.

Telvent will install the tunnel ventilation, signal and control equipment, including the public address, telephony via internet, and closed-circuit television systems.

According to Telvent’s chairman and chief executive officer, Manuel Sánchez Ortega, “Through this project, one of the most important in Europe at the present time, Telvent is contributing to the upgrading of the city of Madrid’s traffic infrastructure. Our Intelligent Traffic Systems will facilitate traffic flow and increase the security of roadway infrastructure.”

The “Madrid River, a link with the Past” project comprises the recovery of public use green areas as part of the remodeling of almost 500,000 square meters along Madrid’s river Manzanares.

It has also executed many significant projects in other Spanish cities such as Barcelona’s traffic control upgrade under the 2004-2007 Integral Public Space Enhancement Plan; the enlargement of the La Cañiza tunnel security and control systems in Pontevedra; and the supply and installation of the traffic management systems n the city of Ceuta.
