Seville, April 5 2006.- Abengoa has signed a contract with the Government of Argentina for the construction of a 500 KVolt High-Voltage Electricity line with a length of more than 181 Km, for a total amount of 49 Million Euros. The signature act was chaired by the President of Argentina, Mr. Nestor Kirchner, and the Governors of the corresponding provinces, Mr. Jose Luis Gioja and Mr. Julio Cobos. This agreement is part of the Federal Plan for Electricity Transmission and will contribute to strengthen the electricity supply of the country.

The new Electricity line that will connect the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan will be operational in March 2007 and will be a supply alternative to mining developments in the Argentinian mountain chain, therefore its name “Mining Line”.
