The Focus-Abengoa Foundation has decided on the winner of the Prize for the best Doctorate Thesis on a Seville-related subject

January 11, 2006

The Panel of Judges named to make the corresponding proposals, to the Board of Governors of the “Fundación Fondo de Cultura de Sevilla”, in relation to the awarding of the Prize for the best Doctorate Thesis on a Seville-related subject, agreed by unanimous decision to award the prize to the work entitled “ Triana and the right bank of the river Guadalquivir. Evolution of an urban mould from its origins to the mid-twentieth century”, by Dª Mercedes Diaz Garrido, as it considered that the intrinsic quality of the work goes hand-in-hand with the updating of the Triana settlement in the historic evolution of the Guadalquivir and, above all, for the magnificent planimetric restitution up to 1950.

The Panel of Judges was chaired by Santiago Grisolía, and its members were Antonio Miguel Bernal Rodriguez, Francisco Garcia Novo, Francisco Gonzalez Vilchez, Vicente Lleó Cañal, José Manuel Macarro Vera, Isabel Montes Romero-Camacho, José María O’Kean Alonso, Jaime Rodriguez Sacristan and Ramón Queiro Filgueira.
