Telvent will control the Madrid-Barajas airport tunnel network

January 4, 2006

Madrid, December 4, 2006 – Telvent GIT S.A. (NASDAQ: TLVT), the global real-time information technologies company, has signed a contract, for more than two million euro, with Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA), to manage the control of the tunnel network of the new terminal at Madrid-Barajas airport.

Telvent will maintain the airport tunnel network installations and manage the security, monitoring and control of the tunnels on the M-111 motorway, the new airport terminal, terminal 4 and the Muñoza tunnels; as well as other tunnels under the airport’s runways.

The tunnels will be managed, while normal airport operations are being performed, from the tunnel control center integrated in the airport management center, from where the control, analysis and decision making activities for the airport services are performed. In the event of an emergency that prevents the execution of the normal airport operations, the tunnels can be controlled from any of the secondary control centers Telvent has supplied for emergency situations.

According to Telvent’s Chairman and CEO, Manuel Sanchez Ortega, “this organic growth is a new example of the confidence our customers have in Telvent’s solutions and in the high value-add we contribute to their businesses. The Madrid airport tunnel management contract is a continuation of a consolidated relationship with AENA, with whom we have worked on numerous occasions in the traffic and environment sectors”.

Telvent will perform the tunnel management and maintenance operations under a Joint Venture with Tecnocontrol, a company from the San Jose industrial construction group with whom we have already worked on other similar projects such as the construction of the Madrid-Barajas airport runway tunnels.

In addition, numerous tunnel networks throughout Spain and abroad are managed by Telvent: the Galicia access tunnel networks through the locality of Piedrafita, the motorway tunnels belonging to Tabasa, the Cadi tunnel, in San Cugat, Catalonia, and the Öresund bridge link tunnel that connects Sweden and Denmark, as well as different tunnels in other countries such as Brazil or China.

Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the global real-time information technologies company, specializes in high value-added solutions for four specific industrial sectors (Energy, Traffic, Transport and Environment), in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific Region, and the Middle East and Africa.
