On last December 13, the Department of Culture of the Regional Government of Andalusia named the winners of the biannual prizes it awards to individuals or institutions from different artistic sectors.

In this edition, the Focus-Abengoa Foundation has been awarded the “Sponsorship and Patronage” prize. The prize has been awarded by a panel of judges chaired by Juan Manzano Fernandez-Heredia, and the “trajectory and cultural promotion activity the Foundation has been carrying out since its creation and, in particular, its activities dedicated to disseminating, encouraging and developing historic and cultural heritage in the fields of music, painting and the organization of exhibitions, concerts, recitals, seminars, congresses, conferences and publications of enormous cultural importance” were emphasized at the prizewinner naming ceremony.

This prize has been awarded on previous occasions to Cristian Ruiz-Picasso and the World Monuments Fund.

The prizes will be presented to the winners during the first quarter of 2006.
