Telvent to supply meteorological information systems to four Spanish airports

July 13, 2005

Madrid, July 13, 2005 – Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, has signed contracts with Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (“AENA”) and the National Meteorology Institute (“INM”), to improve the infrastructure of various Spanish airports, by supplying and installing meteorological information systems and additional meteorological equipment.

Telvent will supply and install for AENA its Automatic Terminal Information System (“ATIS”) meteorological information system, which was developed through Telvent’s extensive research, development and innovation program. This system will enhance aircrafts takeoff and landing operations at the Cuatro Vientos airport in Madrid, along with the airports of Malaga, Gran Canaria, and Palma de Mallorca. Telvent´s new system, will automatically compile weather-related information provided by the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) which, in the case of the four abovementioned airports, has also been installed and maintained by Telvent. The Telvent system will also analyze and integrate the information that is collected from the airport operational systems such as runways in use, exit routes, available taxiing, runway conditions, obstacles, etc.

In addition, Telvent will supply the INM with meteorological equipment which will increase the clarity and usability of the visual information system that is utilized by the airport control towers to view and interpret the meteorological variables which play a critical security role during aircraft takeoffs and landings.

According to Telvent´s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Manuel Sanchez Ortega, “These contracts confirm the trust that INM and AENA have placed with Telvent for the supply and installation of systems that are critical for the safety of air navigation operations. Telvent has been expanding its meteorological capabilities within its Environmental offerings and recently added significant capacity with the acquisition of Almos Systems in Australia.”
