Telvent has been awarded the DMS Simulator contract for the Federal Electricity Commission (Mexico)

Madrid, 12th February, 2004 - Telvent, the global real time IT company, subsidiary of Abengoa, has been awarded the contract for the Distribution Management System Simulator for Puebla's Distribution Network, which belongs to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in Mexico.

The project's scope includes the engineering, software development, factory tests, on site supplies, installation monitoring, integration in the existing Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) and implementing the simulation system to operate the CFE Distribution network in the city of Puebla.

According to CFE, the implantation of this system will bring about improvements in distribution network operations, resulting in subsequent improvements in customer service quality.

In turn, this will help in planning the future growth of its electrical infrastructure and improve the efficiency of the management of its assets.

According to Manuel Sánchez, Telvent's Chief Executive Office, "this contract has converted Telvent in the first company in Mexico to install a Distribution Management System in the Electrical sector. Telvent's strategy in this sector is aimed at promoting value added applications on Control and Data Acquisition Systems. Said applications help electrical companies to extract, process and analyze all the information needed to operate and manage their systems".
