Electric Power Systems is the division of Abengoa's Innovation area focused on innovative energy storage and control technologies to improve the safety, quality and flexibility of the electrical system, favoring a greater integration and manageability of renewable energies.

• Storage systems: analysis, development and integration of energy storage technologies, mainly electrochemical such as lithium-ion batteries, flow, NaS, supercapacitors and analysis of new technologies such as zinc-air, lithium-ion variants, magnesium-air, etc.
• Control solutions: development of new algorithms and strategies for the control of energy assets, mainly storage and renewables. In this line, Abengoa develops its own control platform "Abengoa Energy Management System" (AEMS), which offers a wide variety of services with high economic impact, also ensuring compliance with the most demanding technical interconnection requirements.
