Telvent provides the infrastructures and services necessary for the computerization of the Spanish Tourism Quality System

Madrid, July 22, 2003.- Telvent, affiliate of Tecnologías de la Información of Abengoa signed a contract on July 1, 2003, with the company Profit Gestión Informática, for the externalization of the infrastructure and services necessary for the management of the Information Systems of the Spanish Tourism Quality System.

Profit will be the company in charge of computerizing the Spanish Tourism Quality System, through which the tourism companies that form part of the quality system or are adhered to it, could carry out the process of certification of quality through the Internet.

Telvent will provide Profit with the services of: housing, Internet outlet, data storage, telematic security, administration and monitoring of systems from its data center located in Alcobendas, in which this portal will be housed.

In the first phase, they plan to begin with the progressive installation of the tool between the Central Services and Delegations of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality -ICTE [its acronym in Spanish]- and a significant number of establishments that at this time hold the Certificate of Quality.

Moreover, this portal, which will be housed in the Madrid II building that Telvent operates in Alcobendas, will incorporate an Intranet / Extranet application that will serve as a tool among the users involved in the "Q" mark of the Quality System, making possible greater collaboration and management over the Quality System itself of the Adhered Establishments, Auditors, Committees, Delegations and Central Services of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality - ICTE -, the General Secretariat of Tourism, Autonomous Communities, etc.

Telvent will demonstrate once again its ample experience in projects of this type, bringing its most avant-garde technology to Profit in matters of hosting, advanced management services and telematic security based on a service solution of business continuity, with the following solutions, which will improve the availability of its information systems, corporate communication, data security and reduction of operating costs.

This project is very significant for Telvent as it represents a reference of solution of business continuity in the Public Administration, which require reliable access and communications, as well as 24x7 availability of the technical applications and management between the Central Services and the Delegations of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality -ICTE- and a significant number of establishments that at this time hold the Quality Certificate.

Telvent has important references within the Public Administration such as: Red.es and the Empresa Municipal Promoción Madrid (Madrid City Government) in matters of high value-added solutions in the provision of infrastructure hardware of high availability, 24x7 management and advanced telematic security services, etc.
