Bioethanol is currently the best solution for dealing with the environmental problems we are facing. Greenhouse gas emissions, coming mainly from fossil fuels, are the cause of a progressive global warming which could result in the average temperature becoming between two and four degrees higher in 2050 than it is now. Should this occur, it could have serious economic and environmental consequences, such as flooding of coastal zones, droughts, heatwaves, or biodiversity loss, and could lead to global recession of up to 20% of the world GDP.

Bioethanol not only drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also its production provides employment in rural areas, allows countries to gain greater independence from oil, increases energy diversification, and ensures fuel supply.
